Geothermal Energy and Usage Areas

The word geothermal is 'geo' meaning 'earth' and 'heat' in English.
a scientific combination of the words 'thermal' meaning
is the term. In Turkish, it has a place as ground heat / ground energy.
geothermal energy, heat accumulated at various depths of the earth's crust
It means that the temperatures formed as a result of it are above the regional atmospheric average temperature and that the pressure, which may contain more minerals, various salts and gas compared to the surrounding underground - surface water, is carried to the surface by hot water - steam.

The heat source is the fluid and water that carries the heat from the underground to the surface.
Adequate rock tension that circulates constitutes the important components of the geothermal energy source. These components represent critical factors in bringing the hot fluid to the surface for use. The regions where the temperature gains higher value with depth are among the active tectonic regions with their high potentials, which strengthens the possibility that these regions have geothermal energy status. It is known that the usage areas of this energy, which differs according to the function of temperature, are mostly used in heat applications with temperatures lower than 100 °C. This situation creates a dual application area in space heating using electrical energy and heat pumps. Geothermal energy, which has been used for centuries for both health and industrial purposes, has experienced significant increases in electrical energy production with its added values in the economy and positive effects on the environment. In this context, according to the research of experts, the shortening of the lifespan of fossil energy sources, which have reached the point of depletion in the middle of the 21st century, suggests that renewable energy sources will replace them.
The fact that the cost of this renewable, clean and environmentally friendly energy is less than oil and other non-renewable energy sources has been a solution to the concern of depletion of oil and other resources that may occur, with the sustainability it has provided.
In addition, salt and mineral waters of hot water obtained with geothermal energy
The fact that it is rich in health benefits includes an effective approach in the treatment of many health problems, and offering areas such as spas and thermal facilities to the service of people will reinforce this effect.

USAGE AREAS OF GEOTHERMAL ENERGY

1. Electricity Generation
2. Industrial uses, drying processes and process heat
supply
3. Use in thermal tourism for spa purposes
4. Production of chemicals and minerals
5. Production of drinking water containing minerals
6. Aquaculture at low temperatures
Finally, the rational and efficient use of geothermal resources will pave the way for the policies developed in this direction to achieve gains in a systematic process, for the solution of energy problems and the formation of an idea that will reduce foreign dependency, and the right practices to take action.
